 Tuesday, April 17, 2018

siempelkampAfter two corporate successful greenfield particle board projects – “Giriu Bizonas” in 2005 for Lithuania and “VMG-Mogilev” in Belarus 2010, Kalipedos Madiena (VMG) orders now the third complete plant at Siempelkamp in Krefeld, Germany.

The new plant, which will be located in Akmene, in northeast of Lithuania, will be Europe’s most modern particle board production with pioneering technology  that will go into operation in 2020. On focus of the planning and conception are resource efficiency, best board characteristics as well as highest energy efficiency.  Beyond that, the newest low level formaldehyde or even formaldehyde free technology will be used. “We are proud to be able to implement such a project with our partner VMG” so Ulrich Kaiser, Sales Director Wood-New Plants Siempelkamp.  The new plant will supply the strong expanding production of furniture and kitchens. Since many years the manufactures produces exclusively for IKEA. Thereby is VMG jointly responsible for the positive development of the production capacity in the Baltic and neighbouring countries and will in near future provide additional Lithuanians producers with raw particle boards.

The new order demands Siempelkamp’s whole product portfolio. The synergies of the specialist subsidiaries Pallmann, CMC and Büttner are optimal used. The Belgian planning office Sicoplan adds, due to the 3D-planning technique, all CAD-capabilities, all in all based on laser measurement technology to millimetre data of the real landscape topography. Core component of the plant will be the ContiRoll ® of the new Generation 9 with a length of 45.4 m and a width of 8’. The production capacity of the new plant will be 2.000 m³/day. Pioneering and future-oriented will be for the plant, beside the innovative glue application technology, in particular the spreading technology and press technology. All common European board formats will be produced on the downstream cooling, stacking and cut to size line before being processed into furniture components. The newest SIEMENS S7-1500 TIA control system will be used as well as the “Prod-IQ next” control system, presented at the Ligna 2017.

Latest filter technology of EWK Umwelttechnik and Büttner’s drum dryer guarantee that also in terms of environment the plant is equipped with “Best Available Technology”. This does not meet only international standards, but rather applies as a benchmark based on environmental technology standards. “On behalf of the entire sales team, we thank our client VMG for the re-peated trust they have placed us again. We are pleased on the familiar professional and close cooperation with our long-standing partner”, Hans-Joachim Galinski, Sales Director Eastern Europe.
