Schattdecor witnessed a trendy SICAM 2019

 Friday, October 25, 2019

Under the motto “One Source. Unlimited Solutions”, Schattdecor has now captured the megatrend of urbanisation at their stand in Italy after a spectacular Interzum in May. Their mission: ‘We develop modern surfaces for our customers that go beyond the home.’

Find out what they look like, what trends and new designs are hip and where the journey is heading.

Megatrend Urbanisation

Living, residing and working in the big city is very much in vogue. Where many people meet, new concepts and versatile surfaces have to be used. Our international trend research shows: More and more people are drawn to the big cities. Modern decorative surfaces must meet new needs and trends. In popular metropolitan areas, they can contribute to more coziness, lightness and versatility. Speaking of lightness, we are seeing a new trend here: e-commerce.

Their answer to the trend of urbanization? Large stone decors for exciting moments in the home, graphic, playful structures for new work and modern wood reproductions for versatile combinations in everyday life. In addition, multifunctional products are needed, such as the new Smartfoil Nature and Smartflex Nature products. Schattdecor’s digitally printed overlay for more WOW moments in all areas scores with creative all-round potential.

Highlights and Innovation

First Place

Smart furnishings, cleverly used storage space in combination with homely, bright surfaces ensure a great sense of well-being even in small rooms.

Coliving

Coliving is aimed at professionals, creative people, start-ups and urban nomads. The flexible concept offers fully functional living spaces, temporary rentals and a life without material ballast. Our decor highlights:

Pacific

The decor Pacific meets the demand for softly textured fruitwoods. As the name suggests, our team designed this decor to replicate an elegant cherry tree wood. The layout is notable for its subtle planking, little inlays, and knots. The digitally generated gray shade also adds something a bit different. This decor works beautifully with kitchen or bedroom furniture.

Kalahari

Stone decors have long been popular throughout the interior design and furniture sector, with many customers deliberately making a feature of their distinctive look. Kalahari is another Schattdecor stone design with true all-around and wow-factor potential. The basic marble material has large veins that divide the stone surface into sections, while a soft color gradient enhances the 3-D effect. The quartz veins make the stone appear slip-proof and give the surface greater visual depth. There is currently huge demand for stone replicas, and these kinds of interpretations are well received at the top trade fairs in Germany and abroad.

Amberwood

This wood had been in situ for centuries, supporting the foundations of the storage facilities that date back to sometime between the 13th and 16th century. Over time, they became submerged deeper in the water, eventually forming the construction supporting the entire harbor infrastructure. The effects of extremely heavy loads combined with changeable and extreme weather conditions caused the wood to alter as the years went by. Its dense growth rings took on characteristic coloring. And the naturally nuanced, yellowish-green contrasts between the gray tones brought about an attractive finish.

Delano Eiche

The expansive layout of Delano Oak, with its appearance reminiscent of wide solid-wood planks, is both clearly structured and dynamic at the same time. Its rough, rustic features, resulting particularly from its distinctive cracks and knots, are what make this furniture decor so special. Light and dark areas of color mimic natural wood patterns.

Second Place

In a world of work that is constantly changing, new possibilities are opening up for the unconventional design of workspaces.

Coworking

Coworking Spaces offer temporary creative and complex workspaces in times when space is scarce and expensive.

Third Place

Public places facilitate communication, networking and recreatio In a mobile society, places like train stations, airports or shopping malls have to be versatile today. Highlights:

Lana

Textile decors are popular all over the world. Depending on the fineness and minimalist appearance of the structure, they can be used beautifully as a plain surface with an eye-catching effect. Decors like Lana are used both for decorative interior walls as well as realistic furniture surfaces that truly stand out. Lana’s coarse texture creates a popular visual effect that awakens the desire for a corresponding feel. As a result of its coloration, the bold furniture material creates a sharp contrast with a 3D effect. The decor is exciting and can be combined beautifully with other materials to create a stylish surface that forms the visual centerpiece of any home.
