Sustainable entrepreneurship was the focus of this year’s nationwide Axia Award. At the Capitol Theater in Düsseldorf, outstanding examples of corporate governance in German SMEs were awarded on Wednesday, November 29, 2017. The Axia Award was presented in four categories: “Strategy”, “Resources”, “Innovation” and “People”. For the latter category they got the price.
Out of a total of thirty finalists – including renowned companies such as Stabilo, Edding, Cewe, Ritter Sport and Develey – Schattdecor was able to prevail in the “human” category and convince with their work in the HR area: “Thanks to intensive and differentiated personnel work, this succeeds Hidden Champion, a world market leader in its segment, to find suitable employees and to retain them in the long term. The company’s goal is to create a work culture that is experienced as fair, responsible and true. These efforts, which are there in the HR area there arrive. The employees stay in the company for an average of 14 years” says Holger Lösch, Deputy Chief Executive of the Federation of German Industries (BDI), at his award speech.
Furthermore, the laudator emphasized the guiding principle of Walter Schatt, founder of the company in 1985, according to which loyalty, creativity and dedication are returned for the sake of trust. Schattdecor remains faithful to this motto. In addition to further education offers, childcare offers play an important role for us. Fairness and responsibility characterize the expectation and the interaction with employees – whether in China, Brazil or at the headquarters in Bavaria. Not surprisingly, of over 100 apprentices who have been trained since 1994, three-quarters still work for us.
