Oppein extends trust in HOMAG for Industry 4.0

 Tuesday, June 25, 2019

Oppein and HOMAG engages in strategic partnership over holistic production concept. Chinese brand Oppein recently places its trust in HOMAG for the Industry 4.0 technology. With over 14,000 employees and distributed in five locations, China’s prominent kitchen and furniture manufacturer Oppein, from Guangzhou, now places its trust on HOMAG for the implementation of the new Industry 4.0 strategy.

Brand Oppein is renowned for manufacturing high-quality kitchen and bathroom fittings. The brand is also celebrated for their creativity and design in the home furniture sector. The machines and systems installed are designed primarily for series production. Recently, Oppein has started investing heavily in batch size 1 production to meet the increasing demands for customer-specific furniture. Oppein now wants to take the next big step and enter the world of networked furniture production.

HOMAG set up its own separate project, paid a number of visits to the customer, analyzed production and worked out options for successfully implementing Oppein’s Industry 4.0 strategy. Oppein was thrilled with these initial results as well as the way in which all options were given equal consideration, and commissioned HOMAG to develop more detailed solutions.

HOMAG presented these proposed solutions to Oppein at this year’s LIGNA in Hannover. Since this was a great success, as Oppein is now entrusting HOMAG with the implementation of its Industry 4.0 strategy, with HOMAG acting as a strategic partner for holistic production concepts including solutions for automation, intralogistics and software.
