Altendorf has introduced its completely revised F 45, concentrating on innovations and enhancements in the area of machine features. The technical enhancements realised for the F 45 centre on the cutting of heavy, large format materials. Altendorf promises customers maximum convenience and flexibility at their sliding table saw and its efforts in this vein are a common theme right across the company’s exhibits. The “baby” Altendorf, the WA 6, also boasted a couple of new extras at Holz-Handwerk 2018 for even greater ease of use.
Reinforced table width/length extension for particularly heavy workpieces
The table width/length extension is every bit as capable and robust as it looks. The heavyduty version of the table add-on features a reinforcing steel frame to strengthen and stiffen the tried and tested CDF support and can cope readily with large workpieces weighing as much as 150 kg.
New vacuum clamping system in the sliding table
Thanks to a new generation of vacuum clamps, vacuum clamping can now be integrated into the sliding table directly adjacent to the line of cut. A separately controlled second set of vacuum clamps aligned in the feed direction ensures that wider workpieces too can be securely retained on the sliding table. The result is that all workpieces more than 100 mm wide are held firmly in place throughout the cutting operation. The system is activated via the control unit in the usual way.
Table width/length extension with air cushion table
This addition to the air cushion machine table ensures that even heavy or delicate workpieces float safely on a cushion of air that prevents scratching across their full length and width and makes it very easy to position them and move them through the machine. The air supply for the machine is provided independently to add more flexibility.
Improved toolbox on the slidingTable
Ideal for keeping spare and special purpose saw blades conveniently to hand, the practical toolbox accessory is compatible with any sliding table of at least 3,000 mm in length. The pull-out toolbox drawer, which can hold up to six tool carriers (maximum saw blade diameter 550 mm) ready for use, has now been modified to open further for even easier access to tools and accessories. The toolbox is supplied complete with five
Altendorf WA 6 – smallest Altendorf now even more user-friendly
A fully-featured sliding table saw suitable for a wide range of applications, the Altendorf WA 6 makes an ideal choice when space is at a premium. Now, thanks to a series of new technical improvements, it offers even better flexibility, convenience, safety and reliability. A saw blade diameter of 315 mm gives cutting heights of 100 mm at 90° and 72 mm at 45°. Height adjustment using the hand wheel has been made even smoother and the optional large extraction hood enhances operator safety and handling for bevel cuts.
