 Thursday, May 9, 2019

With the motto “Showing, Doing, Knowing”, from May 27 to 31 the Hall 11 at the fair centre will turn into the hive of training activity. LIGNA, this year will once again offer practical training sessions on equipment training activities like joinery, carpentry, cabinetmaking and assembly trades.

Training Workshops are scheduled to run for 90 minutes and expected to cover a range of subjects connected with the woodworking sector. Participants will have the opportunity to explore new products and also experience activities of power tools, adhesive and assembly equipment. The workshop will also include a presentation on the use of social media networks and ways of improving woodworking trade.

Previously, the LIGNA training workshops held in 2017, introduced sessions on technological change in the woodworking sector. This year, the experts are taking it to the next level, with “Efficiency and quality are critical to success in the woodworking and assembly trades, particularly when working to tight deadlines,” explains Elke Hein, Deutsche Messe’s Project Director responsible for the LIGNA Training Workshops.

Practical experience and use of valuable pointers:

While the exhibitors have their respective stand to demonstrate their products, yet, for the purpose of imparting knowledge on the products and technology they have a quiet place dedicated to learning and training at the Pavilion 11 fronting Hall 11. The workshop is scheduled to start with classroom-style learning, where the  participating visitors will be seated at café-style tables and collect notes while expert speakers and trainers communicate the finer technical points using start-of-the-art presentation systems. Armed with new knowledge and hands-on training the participants will then pick up some tools and start working on pre-prepared work-pieces. Participation in the Training Workshops is free of charge to woodworking and installation/assembly professionals and requires prior registration. After the completion of the workshop, participants will receive a certificate. Tischler NRW CEO Dr. Johann Quatmann extended his support in the LIGNA Training Workshops, and shared his view on the same, “The LIGNA Training Workshops offer excellent value, both to individual traders and to woodworking companies that take their employees to LIGNA, (…) because the participants get to do so much more than just look at the latest tools; they actually get to try them out, compare them, and, what’s more, gather key information directly from the manufacturers.”
