As of September 1st, 2016, Jürgen Köppel (53) will become the new Spokesman for the Management of Leitz GmbH & Co. KG, Oberkochen. Alessandro Telesio (59) will leave the company after more than three years of holding this position for Leitz Group.
From 2009, Köppel was the Director of sales, service and marketing (CSO) for the Homag Group AG (Schopfloch) and before that, from 2004 he was the Managing Director of Brandt Edge Banding Machines GmbH (Lemgo) in the wood and wood processing industry. From 2000 until 2004 he managed the Sales and Application Engineering position of Gildemeister Turning Machines GmbH, Bielefeld. From 1994 until 2000 he held leading positions with Leico GmbH & Co. Machine Tool Industry, Ahlen. Prior to that, during his 12-years posting at the German Air Force, he completed studies of Aerospace Engineering and a second degree in Industrial Engineering.
Additional to his function as a Speaker of the Leitz Management, Köppel also will be responsible for Marketing and Sales. Together with his colleagues Dr. Georg Hanrath, Robert Lukassen and Michael Voss, he will move the strategic expansion of the Leitz Group and continue to strengthen its position as a global market leader of precision tools for the professional processing of wood, wood derived materials and plastic.
