Owned by four generations of the same family, GHEbavaria started life as a forge and manufacturer of agricultural machinery. Today, its main area of activity is developing innovative wood bending plants that are used worldwide and enjoy a first-class reputation. There are, however, other cornerstones to the company’s success.
For example, it has been developing and producing solar process heat plants for a number of years, as well as high-precision tracker systems for photovoltaics. Last, but by no means least, GHEbavaria also manufactures briquetting presses that are used primarily in 24/365 operation to compress waste materials.
Briquetting is a tried-and-tested method of reducing the volume of waste materials and turning chips and dust into a fuel source. In both cases, the material in question is compressed into a chamber under high pressure.
During this process, the particles mesh together to form a solid mass without any need for a binding agent, which ensures the end product has the same properties as the starting materials. Briquetting presses can often pay for themselves very quickly, particularly when used with special waste, as they help companies save what are usually high waste disposal fees. Burning fuel briquets also produces less residue compared with chips or dust. The latest generation of hydraulic presses from GHEbavaria retains all the benefits of the previous mechanical crank presses, including standalone operation, but offers even more besides. The systems can now be integrated into larger plants with a central control station, even going as far as full Industry 4.0 networking. The hydraulic briquetting presses are currently available in two performance classes for 200 kg and 300 kg of woodchip briquettes per hour respectively.
