FURNIPROBuilding on Koelnmesse’s experience and strength in organizing the world’s largest furniture and furniture production events including imm cologne, ORGATEC, interzum and interzum guangzhou, furniPRO Asia 2016 is moving forward to position itself as the leading trade exhibition of its kind in ASEAN. As the regional platform for key buyers and sellers in the furniture production industry, furniPRO Asia once again offers unparallelled opportunities to network and discover new business opportunities as well as being updated on the latest technologies and trends.

The biennial regional trade exhibition for the woodworking, furniture and panel production industries is going to take place from March 10 to 12 this year.

Positive Growth in the Furniture Industry
The global furniture trade, as shared by the Milan-based Centre for Industrial Studies (CSIL), is forecasted to see a 1% growth in 2016 and a 5% increase in 2017. The Singapore furniture industry has also seen a positive growth of 7.4% from 2012 to 2015, as announced by the Singapore Furniture Industries Council. With these optimistic statistics, and the establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015, businesses in the region is set to ride the wave of growth in ASEAN.

New Collaboration and Co-location with IFFS
This is the very first time furniPRO Asia is brought forward to the early quarter of the year, to be held alongside the International Furniture Fair Singapore (IFFS), The Décor Show and SingaPlural as part of the ASEAN furniture exhibition circuit and the Singapore Design Week. This collaboration brings about a strong collective offering to the industry – with exhibits ranging from woodworking and primary processing technologies, to finished furniture and interior products – all in one location.

Held on the 11 and 12 March 2016, there will be additional workshops organized by the Singapore Furniture Industries Council Institute (SFIC Institute) on Future Materials and 3D Printing by Dr. Sascha Peters and Diana Drewes from Haute Innovation, as well as Amir Fattal, Director of creative projects for BIG Rep GmbH.
