Festool has come up with the new BHC 18 cordless hammer drill which it calls a “wolf in sheep’s clothing” due to its exceptional weight/performance ratio.
The BHC 18 offers impressive features such as a powerful impact with integral vibration damping and a compact design, while the brushless EC-TEC motor ensures a high degree of operating efficiency. Ideal for all interior fitting applications, assembly tasks and the installation of composite thermal insulation systems. Particularly powerful, lightweight and ergonomic due to intelligent EC-TEC technology.
The ergonomic C-shape with balanced weight distribution and the brushless EC motor both contribute to the compact design of the new BHC 18 cordless hammer drill. A high degree of efficiency channels the energy in the lithiumion batteries exactly where you need it. Weighing only 2.4 kilograms, the new BHC 18 is the lightest hammer drill in its class and is particularly useful during continuous use, for example. In spite of the compact and lightweight design, the impact mechanism generates an incredible 1.8 Joules of energy.
While conventional hammer drills generate excessive vibrations that make working extremely laborious, the new BHC from Festool incorporates an impressive vibration damping feature that absorbs the energy effectively and eliminates it almost entirely before it can be transferred to the hands of the user. Combined with the compact C design and balanced weight distribution, it ensures a high degree of operating comfort and effortless working progress over long periods.
The new Festool BHC 18 cordless hammer drill is ideal for all interior fitting applications, assembly tasks and the installation of composite thermal insulation systems. The patented 2-chamber system on the new drilling dust nozzle ensures that all residues generated when drilling floors, walls and ceilings (max. diameter of 12 millimeters) are reliably removed. To accompany the new BHC 18, Festool also offers the new SDC-Plus hammer drill with four cutters for concrete, natural stone, mortar and formwork containing concrete. The BHC 18 is available from 1 April 2014 at specialist system partner retailers.
