ExpoMueblera: The Gateway to the Mexican market

magnaMore than 250 exhibitors across the Americas as well as Europe showcased their latest technologies and innovations to the enthusiastic woodworking industry who flocked at the trade fair, Magna Expomueblera, held at the 30,000 square metres of Centro Banamex exhibition center in Mexico City between January 18 and 21, 2017.

 

The key display catagories at the 23rd edition of the trade show included  different sectors of the industry viz. panel products and veneer manufacturing; living room, kitchen and office furniture; and fabrics, upholstery materials and supplies.

 

AG0_5457This is the first time the show has been organised by Deutschemesse AG, the same organisers as LIGNA, the world’s largest woodworking trade show.

 

Talking about the response from the exhibitors following the acquisition Christian Pfeiffer, Global Director LIGNA & Woodworking Events, Deutsche Messe commented, ” The response has been very positive. Deutsche Messe is known as a reliable and competent trade show organizer. Companies like Felder, SCM and Biesse are exhibiting for many years. At this years edition of Magna ExpoMueblera important companies like HOMAG /Stiles, LEITZ, LEUCO or Siempelkamp exhibited for the first time.”

 

He further added, “Deutsche Messe is promoting Magna ExpoMueblera as part of their international “woodworking /woodprocessing” network worldwide. Target groups are aware of our network and are exhibiting and visiting the show.The Mexican woodworking industry benefits from the new international orientation of the show, from the competition and the input from other exhibitors.”

 

First time exhibitors like Altendorf also sounded very impressed on the show. Joerg F Mayer, Managing Director, Altendorf remarked, “Well actually it is the first time for Altendorf to be at this show to participate. And so far, we can say that it’s a very nice set-up. It’s a small show but all the major players are here. We feel it’s professionally organized, so far, we got a good impression. ”

 

AG0_5472As a new addition of the show, is a special CNC display and supporting conference program. The participants at the display include world-leading providers of woodworking machinery for trade, workshop and industrial use. Among them are the Austrian firm Felder, which is represented via the Felder Group Mexico; the German firm Homag, represented by US firm Stiles Machinery; and the local representatives of the Italian machinery giants Biesse and SCM. Spain’s Cehisa and Mexico’s Centromaqare also there. The Mexican company Sideco is also showing a machine.

 

The main focus of the supporting conference program is on leveraging new technologies to increase productivity. Much of the discussion on this related to the use of intelligent technologies to achieve integrated manufacturing across all links in the wood processing chain.

 

Talking about Mexican market,. Maurizo Flores from Cefla remarked, ” Well, Mexican market is a huge market in woodworking furniture, in finishing, and there are people outside who produce all type of furniture like kitchen, like office, floor and also people that made furniture for bathrooms and we try to cover all these kind of markets. ”

 

The 2018 edition of the  will bring in some changes. We have divided Magna ExpoMueblera into two separate shows :From January 17 to 20, 2018 there will be the Magna ExpoMueblera Industrial, featuring Forestry, Woodworking/Woodprocessing and Materials. From March 6 to 9, 2018  the Magna ExpoMuebleraMobiliari e Interiores , featuring Furnishings, Cabinets, Decoration, Appliances and Flooring will be organised.
