Chinese flooring industry inclines towards design carpets

The upcoming edition of Domotex will bring fresh and unforgettable experience with more floor space for design. The 2020 edition of DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR is scheduled from March 24 to 26, 2020 will be dedicating even more space to design and trends. Exhibitors will be presenting their novelties on a floor area covering 185,000 square metres.

 

At the Shanghai New International Expo Center, the individual product segments will present themselves with a special focus: in wood flooring the focus is on hardwood products that can be used with underfloor heating. The exhibitors of elastic flooring will be concentrating on stone-plastic compounds (SPC). In the carpet segment the emphasis will be on the significance of textile flooring in interior design concepts.
DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR has seen a great success with the signature pavilions over its 21 year history.

 

Treasures of the Orient

 

Oriental carpets have an outstanding quality and a good reputation. Their origin and history always intrigued the Chinese consumers. Previously, they were mostly used in the hospitality and public sectors, but with a growing Chinese interest in interior design, the consumption pattern has changed: carpet market in China is increasing. Chinese consumers are looking for exclusive designs and fabrics. Handmade carpets from India, Afghanistan and Nepal are more and more required by Chinese consumers. To introduce the oriental carpets to the B2C world, DOMOTEX asia /CHINAFLOOR creates the “Treasures of the Orient” – an exclusive area with 650 sqm space in the heart of Hall-W3. The area will have a distinctive design and welcome exhibitors from India, Afghanistan, and Nepal.

 

Chinese Original Carpet Design Show

 

With China accounting for one-third of global luxury consumption, Chinese consumers want more premiumisation. It’s a trend that extends right across the Chinese consumer sector, including interior design and home decoration. Chinese companies are making the shift from “made in China” to “designed and created in China” as consumers are increasingly more confident with the domestic brands. That is why DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR supports Chinese carpet design and houses the second edition of Chinese Original Carpet Design Show, promoting the works of young Chinese carpet designers. The top 30 carpets will be displayed onsite as a part of a unique installation. Jury selected among prominent and leading figures in design industry; press members, design professionals and associations will choose top-10 works and award the young talents onsite the show.

 

Luxury Brands Carpet Show

 

The DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR team and COVER Magazine are thrilled to announce the fourth edition of the curated Luxury Brands exhibition. VIPs and invited guests can visit the signature marquee in Hall-W5, presenting renowned carpet design firms who indulge visitors with a variety of extravagant products. Each company introduces two of their finest hand-made rugs with the goal of attracting buyers as well as industry professionals interested in collaborating on future design projects.

 

2020 Carpet Delegation

 

Exhibitors and visitors alike are excited by the great mix of design that will be on display and the potential to develop the event, bringing high-end rugs to a greater Asian audience. In celebration of this growing product niche at the exhibition, show organizers and COVER for the second time introduce an opportunity for international visitors to catalyze their participation by applying for the 2020 Carpet Delegation. Delegates who are selected follow exclusive DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR Carpet Sector tours and are personally introduced to the Luxury Brands exhibitors.
