Imola is going to host the ninth edition of Cefla Live from October 18 to 20, 2017. The exclusive international event that lets participants get a first-hand look at cutting-edge technology for the finishing and decoration of materials of every type and shape. During the three-day event, visitors to the LAB in via Bicocca, Imola, can participate in meetings with technicians and experts to get a preview of the future of finishing.
For Cefla Finishing, Be Digital means that they are Smart factory.
Everything they believe and do today is achieved with the most effective tools thanks to the industry-specific skills of our personnel. Cefla takes care of their customers’ businesses and support them in handling today’s technological evolution.
Go Digital means they can make the most of the flexibility, efficiency, and productivity opportunities available for their business.
Why is Industry 4.0 in the spotlight?
Defined as the 4th Industrial Revolution, the current trend in industrial automation named ‘Industry 4.0’ is far more than a mere evolution: today’s technological options were, actually, unimaginable before the end of the 20th century. Today, Smart Factories arouse considerable interest. The professionals and specialists concerned are carefully considering and experimenting with various domains, services and applications of cloud computing, sensing and robotic devices, but also mass data processes and machine and device connections. The Internet of Things is all around everybody and all can make the most of the diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and more generally, resource optimisation options available.
CPS: Cyber-physical systems
At the core of Industry 4.0 are cyber-physical systems, tightly integrated with IT systems and capable of mutual exchanges and interaction. In other words, thanks to Industry 4.0’s enabling factors, they are able to connect the digital world and the real world, the world of machines and the world of people. In the industrial environment, they are faced with the so-called ‘Smart Factories’ – the first major step to be taken.
A milestone for Smart Factories is the digitization process – i.e. hardware and software allowing for connection and interaction among machines in every step of the production process. In 2020, there will be more than one billion connected devices: this will mean an exponential mass of data, immediately available, which will open the way to multiple analysis options. The Smart Factory of the future will therefore be able to ideally combine the efficiency of mass production with the personalisation of specific customer needs. The most advanced simulation tools will also allow for increasingly realistic models and scenarios to be produced, and the resulting optimisation of resources will turn factories into efficient industry players. They will be able to benefit from real-time information and balance needs and available resources in an efficient manner.
Cefla believes in : “We for one decided to be a Smart Factory – radically changing the way people work through continuous connection between the digital world and the real world”. This encourages better customer service through greater flexibility of production and resource optimisation. Digitization and in-house expertise allow them to take action anywhere, anytime, by involving the professionals and partners that revolve around our business. By doing this, Cefla is able to support thei customers in dealing with the current technological evolution. They are embracing Industry 4.0 in order to provide their customers with a competitive edge.
