Sanding, coating and drying made simple with new approach from Cefla. With the growing demand in the market, changes is taking place at a rapid pace. Demand is increasing the need for customisation. Cefla now comes with an answer to the age old questions related to edge processing that is, there is a quick and cheap way to process edge. The new Smartedge will now perfectly finish any type of edge, either with vacuum painting technology or a self-adapting roller. MDF edges or those of chipboard panels will be filled with integrated Inert Coating technology.
Edge processing needs to be as flexible as possible to maintain a competitive advantage in such a scenario. In developing machinery for edge processing, Cefla has paid attention to this aspect and the latest solutions avoid production bottlenecks and unprofitable downtime. Edge processing will affect the entire panel coating process, so it cannot be considered to be of secondary importance. It has to be efficient to handle large-scale production, flexible for just-in-time requirements and must ensure consistent quality in line with the panel finish.
A technology which guarantees application consistency, reduces the need for specialised labour, avoids solvent emissions by using only 100% acrylic UV products only needs to be flexible to make it the ideal solution. Smartedge processes edges from start to finish and is highly flexible.
A new approach to boost productivity and reduce costs
Cefla’s patented Edge&Go head for vacuum application technology will change the way you approach edge coating. Until now, disassembling the application head was a time-consuming operation, re-aligning the components to the next edge shape or size, which could be straight, convex or concave, was even longer. Edge&Go enables continuous processing of different edges. Built into Smartedge, our solution for painting and sanding straight and shaped panel edges, this patented device significantly increases productivity, maintaining the coating quality edge after edge.
Where time counts for money, same shape thickness adjustments between 16 mm and 50 mm take between 5 and 10 seconds. Edge shape changeovers using Edge&Go in no more than 15 seconds; for example from a straight edge with a 3 mm radius to a J-Pull handle edge.
