woodandpaneleurope It’s 20 years in Egger here in China, tell us about the company’s presence in this part of the globe?

For us, China is a very important market. We are in the Chinese market for more than 20 years. As a company we have clear commitment towards Chinese market and this is manifested in the production unit at our own office that we have developed in Shanghai, where we have our own people who are responsible for tracking, developing the pieces in China.

woodandpaneleurope Talking about the European design here in China, how do you cope up with the price and how is the demand?
China is a very demanding market, and price-wise very competitive with our designs. In fact, we are shortly bringing, by the end of the year with new production which will be introduced by the beginning of the next year in the Chinese market.
woodandpaneleurope You have just won the 20 Plus 20 awards, can you talk about the product?
The 20 Plus 20 awards received from the organizer here, shows our comprehensive product portfolio. We were awarded for our edging products, melamine chip work, and also for corresponding the edge-banding materials from same material and colour.
woodandpaneleurope Coming to this show, what are your expectations from this edition of interzum?
It took us 20 years and on our anniversary Egger in China, we will enhance our brand image through effective approaches, like enhance our presence in the market. We will show our flag and also connect with our local partners and distributers.
woodandpaneleurope Also in two months we have the bigger Interzum, the Interzum Cologne, so what new things can we expect to see there?
At interzum we will be able to show you new colours, or may be textures.

Talking about interzum Guangzhou, Ms. Ella Xia, marketing project manager of FRITZ EGGER, was heard saying, “The footfall is extremely high and we’ve met with numerous target customers. Custom furniture is a trend that the industry can’t ignore, and it is an especially good opportunity for Egger. The concept of having a dedicated custom furniture supplier zone is excellent, and in line with market trends.”
